Someday Her Prince Will Come ... Sorta

Not the prince she was waiting for I'm sure, but he'll do in a pinch. Getting this Snow White was an adventure. I saw a photo of her on Flickr and thought she was delightful.  Compared to the other Disney maidens she's the only one whose eyes aren't so enormous.  I knew they were having a sale this week so I went to the Disney store on Tuesday and they had the nerve to be out of stock.  They only had the super tall singing ones.  The sales lady said to come back Thursday which is when they restock.

Man, I looked through 30 Snows trying to find the perfect one and of course it was the first one that I picked up, lol.  I know it's a compulsion, but I can't stop myself from looking at them all to be sure I've got the best one.  I know those sales people were like, "Dude, look at this wacky chick! But at least she's putting 'em all back and so neatly too."  Which is another tick of mine - keeping things straight and orderly, ugh.  ANYWAY, for $10 bucks she was mine and I skippy dee do dahed out the store a very happy Muff.

Next I went to Target to see if they had further reduced some clearance Bratz and Liv stuff I've got my eye on but it was all still at the percentages I saw last Saturday so I left them there.  I saw the Prince dude on an end isle for clearance but I thought it was a mistake because the girl versions were still regular price.  His box said $7.46 but he scanned at $4.48. I could tell that his clothing was one big outfit and not separates, but I don't care.  I'm running low on Ken's to experiment on anyway and he's darn cheap so I got him.

I found a Princess and a Prince in one day. Serendipity, baby.

  2. I also keep things straight and orderly, sometimes it take me hours and people wonder if I work there. So cool that they didn't add anything pink on Prince outfit! Really cute! I love that Snow White!! Her face remember me another Snow White, the one from Once Upon A Time tv show

    1. Sergio, that's why I avoid those stores that display folded clothing. If I saw a stack out of place I would be tempted to fix it. As it is, I straighten up the toy stacks as I go through them.

That's my first Prince so I didn't notice he had no pink on him until you pointed it out, lol. Snow does kinda look like the lady from the TV show!

    1. Jay, that's where I saw that photo of her! I just went to my Flickr folks and yep it was this tru fashionista photo that sold me on her. This Snow version just looks so contemporary compared to the other dolls.

I didn't notice at the time but some of that horrid glitter on Snow's top reflects some of the color from Ken's tux. Cool.

  4. Oooh, The Snow White is lovely. And articulated too-- hard to beat that! Wonder why the prince dude went on clearance so quickly. Looks like he bends at the elbows, does he bend at the knees too? Sweet haul, as usual!

    1. Hi, Smidge! The Prince is pretty stiff. He can bend at the waist (for bowing natch) and his arms rotate around but cant lift outward. That arm is permanently bent. You can push it backward so his hand rests authoritatively on his hip, but that's about it.

I'm not sure he was supposed to be on clearance. That clearance tag was kinda hanging off the box which is why I scanned it. Then again, he was the only one of his kind on the shelf.

  5. The Prince Ken is okay, but the Snow White having moderate sized eyes makes her a better looker. I mean she looks cuter with the smaller eyes ;-D

    1. D7ana, he's the same old Ken but he's my first stiffie with a bent arm so that's something... I guess. I like Snow because she looks more like a girl than a wide eyed caricature of a girl.

    1. Thanks, Georgia Girl. Ken's suit is VERY shiny, but the jacket color matches his eyes. I still want to dye it black though.

  7. That Snowhite is soooo cute!!! And poseable! I haven't seen those ones near hear, they are lovely, and with that price she's a must. By the way, I do the same and take a long time comparing dollies before taking one of them!

    1. Rossetti, I think that the poseable ones are only available at the Disney Store so I don't know how that would translate to them be sold overseas. She is darn cute though.

    1. LOL, Pam. No worries because the Prince thinks that the Snow is a little on the young side and Snow is just looking to hang out and have fun with friends.

  9. Snow White is tempting and so is Tiana w/the closed mouth. I may have a trip to the Disney store in my future :O) I've seen this Ken and the others but no articulation means no sale for me these days :O(

    1. Dollz4Moi, I was actually disappointed with Tiana because for some odd reason I thought she would be darker than she was. I thought she was SIS Chandra dark, but she's more Kara or Grace's skin tone and I don't have either of them. I probably should have gotten one anyway since they were $10. Ah, well.

    2. Closed mouth Tiana? Oh, I gotta sell some stuff. Thanks for the alert, Anika!

And $10 - thanks again, Muff!

      Gotta sell, sell, sell!

  10. I love the Snow White!
And I think it's weird you saw that Ken on clearance already, the Barbie movie the Princess and the Popstar is just out in the Netherlands :O

    1. Hiya, Tali! I really don't think that clearance tag should have been on him. It still rang up as a Barbie item but I'm suspicious. I also found out his name is Liam. It's printed on the box but was covered by the clearance sticker. ^_^

    1. Thanks, DBG! From the way I dress to the way I shop I am the odd ball in my family. They all lament my fashion sense and my ability to choke the crap out of a buck. But when I find some awesome electronic at a super low price they all cry, "Get me one!"

  13. Hello from Spain: congratulations on purchases. This Snowwhite has a very pretty face. I like her eyes and her makeup. She is very expressive. Prince I like wearing clothes but I do not like his body because he is not articulated. Also when I go to a store is a mess and I have to order everything temptations ... . Keep in touch

  15. I always enjoy your trips to the store. They are like soap operas. Snow White has a lovely face. Nice deal on the Prince. I bought the Princess movie a couple weeks ago for $5. I am suffering a bad case of insomnia. Worse than usual. May be a good time to watch that movie.

    1. LOL, Vanessa, it's always like a soap opera because I'm a one woman vaudeville act as I toddle through life.

I saw the Prince at Walmart today and he was $14.97. I surely think someone snuck a clearance label on my guy. I was asking Pam about the Barbie movies and where to find them. Where did you get yours? Do they ever play in theaters and I just never noticed or they are direct to video?

    2. I got my Barbie movie from Target for $5. I did set out to watch it last night. I made it 5 minutes into the movie and then I was sound asleep. Insomnia solved. I have to remember that tonight when I can't sleep. I'm sure they were just DVDs and never in the movie theaters. I was surprised to see so many had been released.
