My Little Laboratory

Velcome to my laboratory. *said with a European accent and the proper amount of sinister inflection*

Okay, it's more of a craft station, but I still give it the lofty title of laboratory because I'm fanciful like that. ^__^.  I wasn't using this computer desk for much but it has so many roomy areas that I decided to store doll parts, cardboard and the like within it and underneath it.  When I have to drill, clamp or chop up anything I do it here.  I let things dry here too because it's 3 rooms away from my regular desk so I don't have to smell it.

All my extra spare heads get separated by Liv, Cleo Bratz/Moxie, Jade Bratz, Barbie/Clone and Males.  There's really no reason to keep them in jars as opposed to dumping them all in a box.  I just like the way they look. 0_0.  Don't judge me.

On either side of the desk I have these pull out drawers for bodies.  Boys on the left, girls on the right.  As you can see, the girls far outnumber the boys.  I suppose I could keep the heads on their bodies, but I don't see them as a whole doll.  They were intended for parts so I feel the need to separate them.  *shruggies*

This little bin holds parts that are in the process of being experimented on.  You've seen those heads in my previous post.  I'm going to leave them out of the jars for another month to see if they shrink any more.

The power team guy is holding up his hand because it's been freshly painted and varnished and I'm waiting for it to dry.  From a comment that Georgia Girl made, my next project is to "get rid of the black gloved hands."  I have two more options I want to try, but what I've managed so far is not looking cute!

  1. Happy New Year Muff! : )

You are so organized! I love your laboratory. Lol! I wish that my space was this organized I would probably get a lot more done.

I am super excited that you are going to do a tutorial yay!! The black gloves are such a down fall for me. I have passed up some good heads because of the gloved hands. I am not brave enough to try the head shrinkage, but I will try the gloved hands. Thanks Muff! ; )

    1. Georgia Girl, you know, I do the same thing. Power Team is putting out some great faces but I'll look down at their hands and go, "Ugh." LOL, but it's not like they are making them to be romantic interests for other dolls. They are going to do battle, not date, lol.

  3. Hi Muff,

Having a space for creativity is very important for the creative mind. Having one that is as organized as yours is even more important. Thanks for sharing yours with us. I'd love to have a space as organized and the ability to maintain it.

    1. Mustiwait, I'm just being a stick in the mud about buying hands. I dont wanna! *cries* I know the Monkey hands are inexpensive and they'll certainly look better than anything I fashion, but sometimes I just gotta be crafty as opposed to spendy, lol.

  6. By the way Muff, I just looked at my old blog about Stardoll and saw that you're a follower. I quit that blog a long time ago since I lost my interest in Stardoll, and it was a lot of work (Stardoll has something new everyday) so I just couldn't find the time to continue with it.
You might as well stop following it :) One day, I'll start a blog about dolls. When I finally get a camera.

  15. I love your lab. Seeing the heads in jars was a little creepy. My mind instantly went to a horror movie. I can see that whole desk in a horror movie. My one goal this year is organization. You seem to have mastered that.
