Latest (?) Fashionista Kens $7 at Walmart

I just got back from Walmart and wanted to post these images asap in case any one else's store has new Kens for $7. I'm not home yet so I took all the photos with my phone.

Back of box

I'm assuming these are the latest Fashionistas. I lost most of my cool Flickr links so I'm not up on new releases. The Walmart I went to had all Kens on clearance for $7. For a while, all Fashionistas were $8.88, but this store had them back up to $10.97. Anyway, I got the 2 Kens and I LOVE their outfits and shoes. And yes, they have the ridiculous unarticulated knees. The store did not have any of the new girls in stock.

Some close ups from the back of the box.

I don't like the glitter strands in the hair, but I'm digging the metallic clothes and their shoes. If not for the glitter hair I would have given this release 10 out of 10. The clothes look really fun and not so hoochie-lux. Even though the makeup is very dark, it's fitting for the late night glam of their ensembles.

Well done again, Mattel... 'cept for the hair.

  1. Congrats on your find! I saw the ken at walmart to but i passed on him because all i wanted him for was his clothes!. I can say that mattel is back to their old tricks by making the kens less articulated which is frustrating! The girls are ok but i have to pas because im not a glitter fan!

    1. William, I really don't understand the whole articulating the arms but not the legs thing - seems silly to me.

  2. Great find at that price! I love Ken's t-shirt and the shoes on both Ken and Ryan are very cool. I also love this Raquelle. Probably I would buy her to really keep her and not using the body for other Barbies as I have been doing :)

    1. Hiya, V! I don't know why they were on clearance when they are clearly new releases, but their mistake is my good luck.

  3. Muff, that's a great ocasion! I like their clothes, girls' from that photo look unnatural and just lame- all that glitter and pink dresses are just wrong.
Pity they make them less articulated...

    1. LOL, Major. I'm sure that having glittering tinsel coming out of your head is very unnatural.

  4. I agree... we do not, I repeat, we do not have a batch of hooker fashionistas this time. XD

Or if they are... they're high-end girls, hahaha.
Seriously though, I love the gold dress.

But your right, hair tinsel is the worst. *nod*

  5. I know you will get a lot of enjoyment from these guys. I really like those outfits, but the boys with those knees would have to become parts dolls. LOL.

    1. Grandmommy, they will probably languish in their boxes for awhile, but I can enjoy them while they are in there too, lol.

  6. Hello from Spain: I really like this collection. In my country stores are not yet on sale. I love their articulable body. I agree with you that I do not like hair with highlights. I see in the stores in your city these dolls are very cheap. Keep in touch

    1. Marta, the price I got them for is probably a mistake, so I'm not sure how much they will be regular price. I doubt I would pay full price whatever it maybe, lol.

    1. Hi, Ana! This is the first complete look that I've liked since they've produced this line, lol. Even if we don't all like the lines, at least they are still making them so we have something to choose from.

  12. These Fashionistas are in the Italian stores from few time, just released, and here they are very expensive! I thought "Hell! All these money for a bunch of glittered hookers and two kens with stiff legs???" I hope to find them for cheap prices as you, btw, articulated bodies are always welcome, even if I figure these bodies haven't a pivotal torso....

Great story in the previous post! Wow! I'm becoming addicted!!

    1. Sergio, I still have not seen the ladies in person, so I don't know if they have the pivotal torso. Seems like they are only pivoting the Dreamhouse girls this term.

  13. Thanks for this news, Muff! I like the guys' fashions AND wonder if I could use the bodies for older dolls lacking the arm articulation. Wonder also, if it would be possible to switch bendable knees (click bend) with these stiff new legs. Hmmm?

    1. You're welcome, Dana! ^__^ I've thought about putting click knees on the Kens that just have the articulated arms... I haven't taken any out of their boxes yet though, lol.

    1. Hi, Carmen! I have pulled the tinsel out of a few of the thrift store dolls I've gotten, but I'd still rather it not come with any, lol.

  16. I've been lurking on your blog for a while now (lol that sounds creepy) and just like to say I absolutely love it! I plan to make a barbie blog soon, right now I only have a blog for my 18inchers.
Your dolls are so pretty, and you are extremely creative and I admire your work (:

Anywho, I bought the red head fashionista for her body at Tuesday Morning for $9.99. I thought her face was pretty cute, but since I bought her for her body I thought I mine as well not try to connect with her, lol.
