Little Miss Matched Fashion Pack

Image via TonnerDoll.com

My Toys R Us aren't carrying the Little Miss Matched dolls any longer but they had a few of the fashion packs now on clearance for $3.20. For such a low price I wanted to see if the fashions would fit my largest doll body which is a Moxie Teenz.

They had several of this version and one fashion pack that had a romper and 3 shirts in it. I figured at least the pants would fit so I chose this one. Jordan will start the modeling but other body types make an appearance later.

One of the things that really interested me about these packs is the bold claim that 1 fashion pack can make 32 outfits!  How?! I know that technically they are counting each sock as an individual fashion item, but c'mon. At most you can make 13-15 semi-reasonable combinations, but unless you consider going topless or bottomless an OUTFIT, or you are going to make a bikini out of each sock, there's no way. Now, if someone wants to prove me wrong, please do, because I surely want to see it.

The shoes are an absolute no go for any doll I own. They are kind of a blood red magenta color that I like, but I doubt I will ever own a doll with feet this big so they are going in my thrift bin.

Here are the REASONABLE combinations I got with this pack:

By necessity, the reversible dress is very thick, particularly at the shoulders, but it still shapes her body quite well. They did a great job on the sewing and the material is durable but nice to the touch.

If you put the pants on properly then they are high at the ankle. If you want them lower you have to fit the waist around her hip joints. Although the pants seem tight on her, they are a stretchy material and were easy to put on.

The top fits a little awkwardly, but only because it's not cut for her body shape. Still it closes fine in the back and the tiny piping around the shoulder seams is cool. Oy vey, these socks. I think they are neat, however, I would prefer that they actually matched... but that's just me.

I would never pair the dress with the pants, but I'm just showing one of the MANY combinations you could make <eye roll>.  The bag is very nice. I mean, it's a little garish with the stripes and hearts, but another well made piece.

Oh my goodness, look at all these combinations! Tsk, please! I made 8 outfits and if I pushed it I could have gotten 4 more, regardless of how ridiculous they would have looked. Different socks does not mean you have changed your outfit, okay? It just doesn't. Socks are an accessory, not a main article of clothing. Still, I do love the socks so I'm going to get another one of these packs so I'll have 3 pairs of matching socks.

Cleo shows you how the clothes look on a Fashionista. The dress needs a belt to give her any definition, but otherwise, I'm surprised the clothes actually fit. They are not her style at all and kind of make her look matronly, which made me think to try them on...

Happy Family Grandma! Grandma is rockin' them, yo! I like them on her a lot. She looks like she came back from her social club meeting and then changed to take a leisurely walk around the neighborhood. If you've had a hard time outfitting your Happy Family Grandma, these clothes are perfect for her.

Given that multiple body types can wear these packs and they are a quality made product, I say snap them up if you see them (on sale, of course).

  1. Hi Ms. Leo,

I got these fashion packs last year and my Happy Family Grandma loves them. So do my dolls on the Rosie O'Donnell body. They fit Cheetah Girls Raven Simone well too. Thanks for showing all the different combinations you came up with.

    1. Hi there, Limbe dolls! So cool to hear from you. I almost got a Rosie doll from Amazon but the seller kept being weird with the pricing so I'm still Rosie free.

  2. "Let you be you- express your inner daltonist!" Sorry, couldnt hepl it :)

I think that this dress is just great, you can treat it as tunique (with a little try) and I could wear a tunique with leggings... I think. It's interesting how different dolls can actually wear it. Those socks are meh, they should make them in ONE colour, otherwise you look like clown. I mean, doll looks like clown. Pity that shoes don't fit, they seem to be pretty detailed.

    1. LOL, Major, perhaps one would have to be color blind to mix all those colors together, but it seems to be the style with the young folk. I recall wearing bright colors when I was younger, but coordinating, not all mixed matched.

  3. Hey Muff,

Never would have imagined that Little MissMatched pieces would fit playscale dolls. Great to know ToysRUs has them deeply discounted. I sold my doll a couple of weeks ago.

    1. I know, Debbie, I thought for sure that only the pants would fit my Moxie. I remember seeing the dolls in the store a few years ago but didn't pay attention to them. They are $90 on Amazon now. Yikes.

  4. Great review Muff!
They had these on clearance a while back at my local TRU and I was eyeballing them for my Moxie Teenz Tristen doll. I wasn't sure if they'd fit.

I really like the way they look on the Happy Family Grandma best. I have both the AA and Caucasian versions of her, and they are hard to find clothes for! They look like something a cool grandma would wear :)

My local TRU store has already sold out of these sets, but I just checked Amazon and they still have most styles of the clothing packs for under $10. I really like the set with the "peace sign" printed hoodie.

    1. Hiya, Zoila! I do see some good prices on the sets at Amazon (and some not so good). The TRU closes to me didn't have any so I'm going back to the one I found these at tomorrow to see if they still have some.

  5. I like the way they look alright. Yes, I agree they are best for grandma. The pants are even long enough. I have not been to TRU lately...thinking I might stop in. Thanks for sharing!

    1. Grandmommy, TRU really is having a fantastic sale, or Clearance Blast, as they call it. Before, stuff was 40-80% and now it's 60-80%. I'm finding some great deals.

  6. Hmmmmm, I have a couple of grandmas that could use some additional fashion choices. Thanks for alerting me to these discounted items, and showing them on the dolls!

  7. Thanks for sharing this information, Muff. Jordan and the Happy Family Grandma can wear that tunic. I mean it looks okay on them. I think it's because they have rounder bodies; Cleo has a more junior figure. The dress, the top, and that pants look dowdy on her. (Also, Cleo has a high fashion look. The other two dolls look more conservative.)

I admire how you've used the Moxie Teen body for Jordan. Gives her more substance than the Fashionista bodies would have done. Thanks also for having Cleo show the same dress - although it looks as though she's regretted trying it on.

    1. You are right, D7ana. Even though Cleo is on an "adult" body, she totally looks junior in the clothes. And yep, Cleo did not like those clothes at all. She said they made her look flat chested.

So far only 3 of my big headed dolls have made it onto a Moxie body. I still have 5 Moxie's in boxes, but I got them more for their fashions, than wanting to use their bodies. I found a Bijou at the thrift store and gave her a darker skinned Mattel head. They were a perfect skin tone match.

  9. I've seen a few of these packs at Tuesday Morning, but never this particular one. I think the Happy Family Grandma looks the best, of the dolls you tried the clothes on. I wonder who can actually wear the shoes? I tried the rainboots that came with one of my sets on a Disney Singing Princess doll and yeah... it wasn't happening at all.

    1. Oh, they are at Tuesday Morning as well, Presto? Great to know that. I know where I'm stopping first thing tomorrow!

    2. They've definitely been there in the past! TM has had lots of interesting stuff lately, like Monster High deluxe fashion packs for just $5, Barbie Look packs for $7, and even some Pullip dolls for $40!

    3. Presto, I went to two Tuesday Mornings and they were not carrying them anymore, but I did find 2 of the Barbie Look packs that I picked up. I have never seen a Pullip at my TM's. >:(

    4. I've seen the Tiger Lilly doll from the Pullip Peter Pan line, and the Dumbo doll. (didn't buy them, as I'm not a fan of the face on the doll used) Last weekend I saw a doll I'm almost sure was a Pullip called Yeolume. I'm still kind of kicking myself for not getting her.

    2. Jay, they kinda did touch a nerve, lol. I do not appreciate false advertising and bs claims. I never minded it when articulated dolls claim "100's of poses" because a miniscule movement does change a pose. But even with my limited math skills you are not going to get 32 outfits out of 3 articles of clothing.

Your urban dwelling is the business! I love it! I especially like how you expanded the stoop above the stairs and inserted "real" scenes in your windows. Very impressive.

And a belated Happy Birthday to you!

  15. Hey, Muff.

I bought a few of these when they were on sale. The clothes fit my Moxie Teenz perfectly. I never thought about putting them on my other dolls. Great idea. The shoes don't fit any of my dolls.

    1. Vanessa, I never really thought about being able to shop at TRU online. I just checked and they even have clearance items! Some of the stuff is cheaper than in stores, but you have to pay shipping if you don't order $49 worth of stuff.
