What's Going On at my Walmart

I had to stop by Walmart today and of course visited the toy section. I only had a little bit of time so I didn't go up and down every single isle like I usually do. I looked at half of the Barbie isle and then booked it out of there. Not many new things in stock, but still some I hadn't seen in person yet.

I think these are the last 3 from this particular series

I'm so over Mattel clothes. Sparkle Girlz spoiled me with their cheap cuteness.

A three story camper! That seems a tad excessive, even for Barbie.

I remember Vanessa said in her post from January of this year, that Bratz stuff was on sale at TRU. Guess Walmart is catching up.

This is new to me and I didn't realize until I was looking at the photos later, that there is no doll in the box, just an extremely good photo cutout.

  1. I've seen the 2 outfit pack at my local toy store, but I haven't seen any of the other things. One of the things that I like about collecting Barbie is that she has everything under the sun, and there's no problem to find clothes an accessories that fit her. It was hard for me to find the Monster High fashion packs and also the dolls were a little bit short for the Barbie cars.

    1. You're right, Monstercrafts. Mattel did not release that many fashion packs for Monster High Dolls. I haven't been keeping an eye out, but I don't think they released any separate packs for Ever After High either.

  2. Cool stuff.

The Made to Move Barbies were $9 and some odd change at Walmart here, recently. I didn't buy.

A few weeks ago, I purchased that cute little puppy to add to Travel Doll Janet's loot from me.

I may have to make a special trip to Walmart to see if the Bratz items are on sale here. Janet can wear those items and I have another doll that might be able to wear them as well.

Thanks for sharing what's going on at your Walmart.

    1. $9 Debbie?! Now that's a price I like. I hope I find some for that price and I can spend my Amazon rewards on something else I don't need.

  3. They have some new stuff- that sushi is new! Thank you Muff for posting this! I'm going to have to hobble up to walmart and snap some of those outfits up. My walmart I havent seen these yet, but the ones in Virginia may be slow to getting the new stuff in.

  4. Thanks for showing us what's in your Walmart. You get a lot of clothes compared to what I've seen around where I live. It's just better to buy online than drive around but at least now I know what to look for:D
There's even a specialty toy store not far from my house but there's a very limited selection of Barbie, Brats and Monster High dolls much less fashion packs. Oddly enough there's plenty of Play mobile merchandise.Cute, but not my thing at all.

    1. Maricha, I much prefer to buy dolls in person, but I guess I wouldn't mind buying clothing online. A wonky eye or face up is harder to fix than some loose stitching.

  5. Good stuff! I'm going to have to look for that sushi set...

    1. jSarie, your dolls will enjoy a sushi snack. The BJD's might turn their nose at it being so small though.

  6. I'd prefer that Sparkle Girlz stuff at least be bagged, but that's my OCD talking.

I noticed Bratz stuff was on sale at my local TRU as well.

Sending the Bratz dolls to a music festival is an interesting choice. Coachella, for example, has a reputation for chicks who drink and drug, and who don't wear a lot of clothes, a lot of whom are "celebrities."

    1. I think the Bratz dolls have a band called Rock Angelz,so maybe they're at Coachella to perform more than party.

    2. Barb, yes the individual Sparkle packs aren't wrapped, but they do have some Sparkle sets that are. They used to have a 5 or 8 piece fashion avenue pack I think.

The Bratz sets are necessarily more adventurous than Barbie, but they aren't as... predictable I guess.

  7. I love the tent. Haven't seen that. If that pop up camper was $35, that's pretty decent for Mattel. Usually those campers run $60 and up. I still haven't seen the sushi set. Will keep looking.

    1. Vanessa, that camper was $89. I feel for the parent that took that to checkout and didn't realize the actual price was over on the left.

  8. Well your Walmart is looking way better than mine. My closest stores have had sad-looking shelves for months- nothing new or even interesting. And I HATE the way the accessories are being displayed; it's a big unsightly mess.

    1. Jewell, I did notice that the Barbie section itself was kinda small. It used to be an entire isle all by itself but now it only takes up half of one.

  9. Nice to see the variety of accessories you get in the US. Our toy stores seem to believe that Mattel only produce dolls - or maybe that we won't buy the dress and accessory packs because they rarely stock them.

    1. Carrickters, in cases like that, it makes me wonder if people make most of their own accessories or if they end up ordering online and then having to pay jacked up shipping.

  10. Idk whats going on that particular walmart. The bratz tent at mine is $10.88 and bratz single fashions are $2.00. I have heard that other Walmart are clearing out older fashionistas at $5 and style dolls @ $9.

    1. Dang, Jay, those are some good prices. I'm always holding out, hoping for a better price so nice to know my store *might* get lower.

  11. Thanks for sharing Walmart's new stuff. I've got a cart of items I'm considering. But I also need a new camera so I can post again. It IS fun to see new stuff.

    1. LOL, D7ana! Bratz has no problem with being over the top and out there.

My Amazon wish list is so freaking long I'll never get all that stuff. Before I got into Amazon rewards I was all about the Walmart cart.

  12. BTW, I like that silvery top and gold skirt. Shrug.

Sometimes, I have to laugh at the Bratz fashions. They can be soooo gaudy ;-)

  14. I like that you did a video. There are nice new clothes coming out, but I tried a skirt on Tandra yesterday and it was too tight. I don't understand why Barbie's clothes are too tight for her own body style. I guess Henna will get the skinny stuff.

I hope the MTMs get to a price you're willing to pay. I wonder if they will drop when the newer ones come out.

Oh, and I wish Ken would get some new clothes. The same three outfits have been available for months. And that Bratz camping set is cool. Thanks for sharing!

    1. Janainah, there is just something innate in me that doesn't want to pay full price for anything. I had seen what appeared to be new articulations for curvy Barbie and a new Ken articulation on Facebook. If that's true, maybe it will push down the price of the MtM's.
