I was going to post that my Tuesday Morning has an awful selection, with only a handful of Barbies and not much else. But my husband was sweet enough to call me when he stopped in another TM today and found some EAH dolls. There was one there that I wanted, so he picked it up for me! :)
Barb it's interesting you said that about selection because mine used to have a larger playscale section. They aren't even carrying many boy toys either. It's mostly toddler and learning toys.
Ms. Leo, I don't even travel far to Big Lots like I used to so I can imagine not doing it for Tuesday Morning. Times have changed and these old locations that used to have the best stuff are changing direction.
Macie naprawdę ciekawe promocje i kuszące propozycje! Mieszkam w takim mieście, gdzie brak dużych sklepów z zabawkami i o takich obniżkach nie ma nawet mowy! Pozdrawiam i dziękuję za pokazanie filmu :-)
They just recently closed the TM that was near my house. It's the second one they've closed in my area. It's always fun to stop by TM. So many other cool items in the store. That's where I bought most of my Only Heart dolls, many years ago. They were pretty cheap at the time. So that's why they call them Tuesday Mornings....Tuesday shipments. Who knew?
"Eh not much" is so so right. I'd been holding off on commenting until I had a chance to check out the new TM at rebuilt Arcadia Fiesta stripmall (okay, it's the rebirth of the scuzzy older TM from down the block, but BIGGER! CLEANER!)... and it was worse than yours. Small toy section, nothing exotic, not even any real sign of having gotten really GOOD stuff from other stores' resets.
TM got into financial trouble during the Great Recession, and their turnaround plan includes closing underperforming stores. My preferred TM in south Scottsdale closed last year. *sob* Glancing at their financial filings, they've been profitable for two fiscal years and they have no debt on the balance sheet, so they're not on the K-Mart path as a company, though that doesn't rule out pulling out of a region.
Smaller, thanks so much for that investigative report! ^__^ I understand them doing what they gotta do to turn a profit and if toys weren't big sellers they will go with what was. I'm sure the toy collector contingent is smaller than the home goods shopper.
It's always weird to see dolls at TM marked higher than they are/were in stores.
ReplyDeletePresto, I'm used to their imports being priced higher, but regular old Barbie stuff? - That's new.
DeleteWe don't have a Tuesday Morning around here. Maybe closer to Christmas their selection gets better?
ReplyDeleteJaye, the clearance section gets more stuff during Christmas, but they are not big on like Black Friday sales or things like that.

DeleteYour TM has a lot more toys than mine. I was there today and saw nothing more than some holiday ornaments. Nice video as always.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Georgia Girl! I guess it's semi-official and they are weaning off of the playscale items.
DeleteI've never heard of those shops! I like that vinyl Ghoulia though.
ReplyDeleteIt was a nice vinyl, Monster. Ghoulia was the only version they had. I would have liked to seen the others.
DeleteMy Tuesday Morning is a bit of a distance, so I don't get there that often. You are right! It is a bit hit or miss!

Dzięki za zatrzymanie się, Olla. Nawet wtedy, gdy nasze sklepy nie mają dobrych rzeczy przynajmniej istnieje wiele sklepach oszczędności wypróbować.

ReplyDeleteOh no, Vanessa, I hope that TM isn't going the way of Kmart. All my Kmarts are gone now.
