You'll need a Power Team Elite body, Ken body with a pivotal neck and something to cut plastic with (dremel, hacksaw, etc.) Let's get started!
First, cut out Ken's neck and a portion of his shoulders and back.
Next, use a dremel or exacto knife to shape the neck and make the cut shown.
You now have a super articulated body for any pivotal neck Ken. Huzzah!
Wonderful tutorial. I will keep it in the recesses of my mind. Could come in handy for something other than Ken. Way too much work for my Kens. LOL!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness you're a fantastic mad genius!! I am so glad I found your blog!! (^_^)
ReplyDeleteHey, Vanessa. I am determined to make the bodies I want since the toy companies just wont produce what I'm after. All that complaining I do, but actually, it's kind of fun to experiment and make my own prototypes.
ReplyDeleteHello and Welcome Cat! Ms. Frankenstein at your service. It's alive!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you 100%. Now if I can just plug in my darn airbrush, I would have all the dolls and shades of bodies I need. Oh to find extra time. Wouldn't that be lovely.
ReplyDeleteI Love it! Mad genius is right!!! Gotta get me one of those Dremel's!
ReplyDeleteI was looking at the pictures just before I got off of work this morning and one of my supervisors walked by and saw the pic of him working out and started cracking up! @Vanessa, I feel you on the airbrushing thing! I so want the bodies in the shades I want them in!!!!
Thanks for answering my question! This opens up many options for me. I will have to get a dremel! I looked at one at Xmas but I passed on it. I will be heading back there soon! Thanks again for the info.

DeleteJeez, I've read this post like four times and I've only JUST figured out the black gypsy magic you used to make this work. Color me impressed and dumbfounded and admiring from afar--this has "hack your fingertips off again" written ALL over it.
ReplyDeleteTina, what's crafting without the danger of blood loss and digit dismemberment? Amirite?!
