This is the only one with flat feet!
This dress looks very poor quality in person
I think this is the worst tennis shoe I've seen them do
I totally got this doll because of the shoes
Got this one
and this one!
When compared to the unarticulated Style dolls that have been rolled back, this years Fashionista clothing packs and older single clothing sets:
I think $7.97 is a darn good price. It's like they are taking into consideration that these dolls have no articulation and in addition, are lowering the price of multi clothing sets. I'm okay with this. Now if this is just Walmart's introductory price and they are all going up to the $11 that Amazon is charging, then pfft, I'll be happy with the one doll and two packs that I got.
I really like the flat feet. Some clothes are very nice, I like that white sleeveless vest! Your doll's shoes are lovely!
ReplyDeleteNight Owl, I wouldn't mind seeing more dolls with flat feet! I almost got the pack with the white vest, but it was the only thing I liked really and it didn't seem worth 8 bucks just for that.
DeleteGreat picks Muff! I like the clothing sets you choose, they also come with nice accessories, and the girl has got super trendy shoes!
ReplyDeletebut inarticulated bodies are a huge disappointment, non only for collectors but also for kids (this is supposed to be playline isn't it?). My 4 years old niece is pestering me for articulated Barbies with "many cothes" and this isn't going to help :-(
Billa, I like all the little odds and ends they included in the fashion packs. I have never understood Mattel's thinking when it comes to articulated dolls. I cant believe that kids would prefer a static doll over an articulated one.
DeleteHello from Spain: I'm happy to see these new dolls and new outfits. I see that it is very cheap in your country. I envy !. In my country Amazón these collections are not for sale. I want new clothes. Thanks for sharing. Keep in touch
ReplyDeleteMarta, this is a very good price for these sets so hope they make it your way.
DeleteOh, I will have to make an WalMart run this afternoon to see if they have them at my Walmart. I am mostly interested in the clothes, I already have the Summer doll (from Amazon) and she already has been rebodied. Thanks for shariing!
ReplyDeletePhyllis, I like the face direction they took the Summer doll and she looks really good with that hair style. I just didn't care for those shoes.
DeleteI may covet the outfit pack you bought and perhaps the one with the peach suit. I've been avoiding Walmart due to being kind of Walmarted out, but this merits am exception.
ReplyDelete$7.97 is great -- basic swimsuit Barbies are about $7 in grocery stores.
I hear you, Smaller. I went to Walmart for Black Friday and didn't think I'd be going back anytime soon, but necessity called and of course, I just had to go to the toy isle, lol.
DeleteThat's a good price there!
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for sharing the shoe photos - that makes it easier to consider them sight-unseen now. :)
jSarie, sometimes a good shoe can change my mind about an outfit.
DeleteAgree about the tennis shoes. They wouldn't be so bad if they were made for flat feet, but I suspect that's not the case. I like most of the rest of the pairs, though. Not-pink shoes are always welcome!
ReplyDeleteYou know, Anderson, until you said it, I didn't notice that none of the shoes were pink! That's a step in the right direction as far as I'm concerned.
DeleteThanks for taking pictures for us, especially the shoe pictures. I'm excited for the flat feet, but I'm holding out for the new jointed bodies with the ankle joint. I do like Nikki's dress (specifically the snowflake looking top), but not enough to buy her.
ReplyDeleteAnd I've always hated sneakers that are designed to compensate for the high heeled foot, they always look clunky and over-sized. I'd rather have a doll on her tip toes that ugly shoes.
Aubrey, they are featuring the new ankle jointed Barbie on the Story Starter packaging but I haven't seen her in the wild yet nor any shoe packs designed just for her. Ankle joints are always bad in my opinion but we'll see how they manufacture them.
DeleteI love the shoes and clothes, but dolls withot full articulation...meh...Well i hope that clothes won't be very expensive in my country. Usually we have to pay from 16 to even 21 dollars per fashionpack with two outfits and one pair of shoes:(
ReplyDeleteNatalia, just this one time I think the price is okay because the dolls aren't articulated. If they were, I would expect them to cost a bit more.
DeleteI too like the fashion pack you got! I could see myself getting a couple of those items. The price does seem really good. Flat feet does limit a doll when it comes to shoes. Non-articulated dolls are a pain in the but! MH are still articulated so what's the problem?
ReplyDeleteMs. Leo, that's a good point that Monster High has remained articulated all this time. I wonder what the reaction among kids would be if that were to change? Hmmm.
DeleteBardzo ciekawy post! Dziękuję za możliwość obejrzenia lalek, ubrań i butów!
ReplyDeletePozdrawiam serdecznie!
Zapraszamy, Olla i dziękuję za odwiedziny.
DeleteNew fashions, too? Well, it's about time! I've seen a couple of the dolls in store, but wasn't all that interested due to the lack of articulation. I haven't seen these new fashion packs. I like both packs with Teresa on them. And what is that in Midge's pack...an apron?
ReplyDeleteJewell, I do believe that Midge is supposed to be stuck in time and I do recall wearing bibed outfits like that when I was a youngster. But we were hicks, lol.
DeleteI saw them as well. Cute for collecting but not for play. Nice outfits at great prices!
ReplyDeleteTami, I like it when their outfits are more casual and not all glitter/bling. I think this was a pretty good release design and cost wise.
DeleteOh man, some of those new fashions are fantastic! The local shops here don't have these yet, but I'm loving the new price point!
ReplyDeleteAgreed, Presto! I hope Mattel keeps that price point for a while.
DeleteThanks for sharing the pics, especially of the shoes. I have seen a couple of the dolls. The promo pics looks so much better. Just when I thought that I was going on no doll shopping....Lol!
ReplyDeleteGeorgia Girl, I had seen some promo pics of these and the multi racial dolls that are supposed to be released. Now those girls I'm really interested in seeing in person. I hope they live up to the hype.
DeleteI saw them the other day; examined them briefly; was unimpressed. The price was not visible. They were being placed on the shelf.
ReplyDeletedbg
Debbie, maybe the new, new girls will be more to your liking. They look interesting at least.
DeleteWith the new-new dolls there will be a variety of head sculpts and Grace from the SIS line has moved over to be just a friend of Barbie. Her other SIS friends' fate is yet to be determined, but I fear that Trichelle, Kara, Chandra, and Marisa have run their course. Mattel gave Darren the ax some time ago.
DeleteAnd why Isn't Mattel including at least one dark skinned male in the Fashionistas line? It's like Black males are an endangered (or someone wants them to appear to be) species.

Thanks, Muff! It's good to see what is out now.
ReplyDeleteI can pass on these dolls. There are some others from the 2015 line that I would like - that fair complected Nikki, the blonde with the half-shaved hair, and the new Christie.
Surprising to me though is the fashions. I like the two you got and the first one with the bronze skirt and the green-pink jacket. Neat!
D7ana, I'm looking forward to seeing those new ladies in person and I hope the multi cultural girls aren't going to turn into some, "Oh, they lightened up Nikki to sell more dolls," debate. Which probably wont hurt Mateel's bottom line, lol.
DeleteThanks for showing these offerings. It's nice to see the new dolls and fashions, but I don't care for any enough to purchase them.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, Roxanne! Maybe the next release will have something you like.
Deletehmm it doesn't seem that they have the doll with half shaved hair and the gorgeous redhead that I saw in the prototype pics,I really like the one that has the "be yourself" dress, her eyes are charming. The ken with red pants look nice and the new fashion packs are nice(I like the purple dresses and the bathing suits particularly)
ReplyDeleteI think the reason why mattel decided to remove the articulation is because of it's joints. I think it's because some kids find joints ugly. Most of my cousins would rather play with my dolls that has basic articulation because they find the joints ugly, but those were my cousins...
sadly I'm not really buying these things since the tax here is crazy, from what I have heard, disney sparkling princesses in the US costs around $10 or less,in the philippines, they cost around 1000 pesos which is currently a whopping $22, I really want a cinderella one, hopefully I can get one on sale. if they ever do one...
Ampy, I don't think those newer girls you mentioned are supposed to be Fashionistas. I thought they were separates, like Friends of Barbie or something like that.
DeleteI can't even imagine a kid wanting LESS articulation, but maybe it's just your cousins, lol.
Sorry for the late reply, thanks for the clarification :), the ones I mentioned looked like these guys though,
Deleteand about the articulation thing, I've observed that my cousins just dont like the visible joints, they went crazy with dolls that had internal joints like takara's licca and jenny dolls.
on an unrelated side note, I finally saw some sparkle girlz dolls in our country's toy stores! well sorta, theyre 18 inch-ish, but atleast there's a chance that I mght see the 12 inch doll clothes you once showed us.
Hey Muff, longtime fan here but I never comment. I know you like a good deal and you probably already know about this, but I'll post it anyway. Apparently Big Lots is selling Barbies & Accessories, buy one get one free. Like I said, I'm just a fan so I don't know if this is a good deal or not. See more info here if you haven't heard yet - http://hip2save.com/2014/12/07/big-lots-barbies-accessories-buy-1-get-1-free/
ReplyDeleteThanks, T, and welcome! I did get the BigLots alert for their BOGO sale but unfortunately I was away and no where near one of their stores. I will try this weekend, but it will probably be slim pickings by then. Good looking out, anyway!
DeleteI have mixed feelings. Some I like. Some I am not so sure about. I like most of the shoes, but some are silly. I think the best outfit is the green and what looks like peach suit. I really like that. There are a some other outfits that are ok. I think I will mostly pass though.
ReplyDeleteGrandmommy, I get that they aren't to everyone's tastes and the best I can say is that at least this time they aren't exceedingly hoochie.
DeleteWonderful blog! Beautiful dolls and photos >^.^<
ReplyDeleteThanks, Anna!
