Thanks for Watching!

  1. Your thrift has a lot of great things, but the prices are very high especially for the boxed dolls. The Stepping Out collector doll was a good price. I cracked up when I saw that they had dolls that currently being sold...for less. Lol! It makes me wonder who priced the dolls. Your grab bag was good. Thanks for sharing!

    1. Georgia Girl, the boxed doll prices are ridiculous. They used to all be $4.95. Now they are based on the condition of the box. $7.95 poor, $9.95 good, and $12.95 if it's something fancy.

  2. Your thrift bag find was good, but it appears that on the individual items, your Thrift store is no longer so thrifty!

    1. Phyllis, you really have to search to find a cheap item nowadays. They do have tag sales every day, and they rotate the tags that items are given. However, by the time the sale for a particular tag color comes around, there's not that many of that color left. They are tricky that way.

  3. Thrift stores usually look pretty grungy but yours is clean, bright, and well-organized. You got a whole lot of fun for $3!

    1. Limbe Dolls, I do give them credit for how well kept the store is. Sometimes I go in on a rare Friday or Saturday and it is bedlam in there and the toy isle looks like a cyclone went through it. They try hard to keep things tidy though.

  4. wow you got alot of great stuff out of that 2.95 bag, I'd love to go thrifting with you! We do not have any stores around here like that. I would have caved on that cute little green car.

    1. Lisa, I actually found a bug like that in red so that's the only reason I didn't get the green one. Cars are too bulky to store so I have to be very choosy about those.

  5. I would lose my mind at your thrift store. The ones around here have very few toys. I usually come out with house hold items I turn into barbie furniture. And the cars omg I've been dieing for a camper to turn into an ambulance that thing would have been mine provided it was in good shape. I'm Sooooooo Jealous!

    1. Mustiwait, I don't know if you can tell in the video, but large items they tape close so I couldn't see what was going on in the camper. It was way too big though for me to get it regardless, but I love seeing the larger sets like that.

  6. There were lots of goodies in the bag.

    Why not re-thrift everything you don't want/need?

    1. Debbie, the stuff I didn't keep was stained, torn or one off. I find it annoying to get bags that are literally full on junk so I'm not going to pass it on. I know some people have said that I should rethrift the single paired shoes on the chance that someone might have the matching shoe. Yeah... no.

  7. I'm not a jealous person by nature, but your thrifting posts always seem to inspire a little envy, LOL. Your store is clean, bright, and has a great selection. Oh, are you going to tell us about your doll club meeting last week? I saw your reply on someone's blog about attending.

    1. Thanks, Jewell!

I did go to the doll club meeting but I had decided not to blog about it because, well, I had some issues and I didn't want to be negative about someone's club, especially when the issues were in my own head and didn't have anything to do with them. Hmm. I guess as long as I preface with that I can do a post about it or I could just get over myself as well, lol. You know what? I took all the footage so yes, my next post will be about the doll meeting because any negativity was of my own making.

    2. Cool. I'll look forward to reading that post.

One thing I don't like about group meetings is when a camera turns to me. Whoa! I think. I came for the doll-enthusiast company, but I am not the focus. That's my "issue." It's understandable that people want to document the event and to share with folks who weren't there, but ... I don't want to be in the photos. Neither I nor the would be recorder are evil. But that made an awkward session. Shrug. So you're finding something about the doll meeting not to your liking, that's a matter of your taste. Not negative - so post away!

'Cause you know snoopy folk (moi, oui) want to read your take ;-)

  8. The thrift stores I go to are similar to yours. At least the big ones are. I thought the cars were a little high but not most of it. Boxed dolls are always more.

Do you have a philosophy for shopping? Mine is the same for dolls and clothes. " Everything that I think I might
want goes in the cart." Final decision are made prior to check out.

I find thrift store shopping a solitary pursuit. I son' take anyone with me and I squirrel away my purchases for when I'm along! My favorite thrift store didn't have a lot of toys the last time I was there. I hope that was a fluke.

I have subscribed to your YouTube channel. Hopefully I will at least know when you put up a video even when blogger won't tell me you have a new post. Love your videos and your blog!

    1. Hi, Ms. Leo and thanks for subscribing to my YouTube!

My shopping philosophy? Hmm. As with most of my pursuits, I do prefer to shop alone. I find other people a distraction and it makes me antsy to conform to other people's time tables. I am a fairly superstitious person and have some compulsion tendencies so I don't think anyone would enjoy shopping with me anyway. . Sometimes these compulsions are annoying to me, but mostly I find them comforting. Anyone else though would definitely find them wackado.

I most definitely grab everything I might want because if you snooze, you lose in the thrift store game. What I end up getting is based on how much cash I have since the store doesn't take credit. I'd be in a world of hurt if they did. I actually don't get a cart when I first go into the store (one of my superstitions). I put the stuff in piles in front of me and push it along with my foot if I cant carry it all while I'm looking.

Only because I was travelling so much last year did my thrift purchases pile up on me. I usually like to open them up the day I get them (Thursday's) and find space for them.

  9. Nice video. Hello every one i am from Pakistan (hope its ok) I love collecting and modifying dolls but I don't have enough time so mostly i just browse blogs of people who do that. Muff you are just awesome. I love your tutorials. recently i got a perfect fashionista body and i tried to change her hand with liv doll and it was great.they are super articulated like collector barbies. i was quite much motivated by watching your tutorials. these doll are bit expansive in my country so had to think twice when need to change them......

    1. Hi, Teady Sim Sim! It is more than okay and welcome to my blog! If you do any doll posts please share with us because I bet we would all like to see your modifications. That hand mod sounds VERY interesting. I hope my few tutorials have been helpful because I'm all about trial and error and saving people's time and money.

  10. I feel like I just went thrift shopping with you! I get a little disgusted when the prices are silly. Especially when it is something I want. LOL Your bag was chock full of goodies! I have to be more disciplined like you because I tend to save single shoes in case I run into the other one, one day. I also have a stack of dolls to rebody or sell for that purpose. I keep looking at that pink Lego in the foreground. It looks like four drinks in a drink carrier. I might have kept it and painted it to look like four cups if it looked like the right scale for either my 1:12 or 1:6.

As always, I loved your video!

    1. Thanks, Grandmommy, glad to have you along on my thrifting adventures. ^__^

Unless I can modify the shoe in some way to use it for another purpose, I cant keep single shoes. It would bug me no end to have a missing shoe and I cant rethrift a single shoe either. I just cannot. Like when I cant find one of my socks, I'm all, "Where the heck did it go?!" but I still cant keep it thinking I'm going to find its mate later on. I have to tell it, "Sorry, buddy. May you be one together in another life, but you gots to go."

That thing was a Lego?! I thought Legos were teeny tiny. I got a Lego set when TRU was having their clearance and the pieces were miniscule. I did not know they came that big.

    2. LEGO makes sets with larger bricks for the younger kids who would have a problem building with those teeny tiny bricks. Actually, they make three sizes, with a smaller size still for the toddler set. Since my daughters have a LEGO loving dad, we have sets in all three sizes, that have been put away for grandkids now. Although MEGAblocks also makes bigger blocks, I think.

We also have that dollhouse that you showed. Definitely not for the 1/6 dolls, but my girls got a lot of play out of the dollhouse and related furniture, etc.

    3. Thanks for the LEGO info, Barb! I don't think our house ever had LEGOs when we were kids. Lots of Hot Wheels and home made crafty stuff, maybe a Light Bright and definitely a Easy Bake Oven, but no LEGOs. When I opened the set I recently got from TRU I was quite surprised at the size. It now makes more sense that they come in a variety for stubby fingers and adults.

  11. Hello from Spain: Definitely I have to go to your country. That store has treasures of Barbie. Very cheap. I envy you! Keep in touch

  12. I like your background music. I get a mini workout, rocking, finger popping, and head nodding as I watch ;-)

Congrats on your finds. I noticed a toddler doll and lots of accessories in your keep box. You wouldn't have gotten that much for $3.00 at Walmart. Plus you got to see the Barbie vehicles and various dolls.

Cars and vehicles do take a lot of space. I *know* first hand ;-)

    Thanks for sharing your trip!

    1. D7ana, I have to say that finding background music for videos is one of the things I like least about making them. As an artist myself, I totally understand copyright and Metallica's Lars' heated position about it, but dang, I sure wish I could just throw some Kpop behind a video without being sued. If I could, you'd hear nothing but 2NE1 and Big Bang in every one of them.

Right now I have 14 cars, a tour bus, 2 campers and umpteen motorcycles. Space wise, that's about 14 cars too many, LOL. If I did have the space I would definitely showcase my thrifty rides by building a garage dio that could house them all. Straight balling, Pimp My Ride-MTV Cribs style. *sigh* One day.

    2. LOL. whoa, you GOT vehicles! It would be fun to see them all. Some day. One day ;-)

I respect copyright so I only have used the music YouTube provides. I'll check on the artists you mention - 2NE1 and Big Bang - cause I've never heard of them.

    1. April, unfortunately, not all thrift stores are overstocked with toys like this one is. It took me a long time to find a store as awesome as this one.
