Dolls & Collectibles at Barnes & Noble

Barnes & Nobles is the main pit stop on my walk route because they have the nicest bathroom with warm water and actual paper towels instead of blowing hand dryers. I can also play Pokémon Go while in the bathroom because it's also a Poke Stop... too much info? Yes, probably.

Anyway, they have a HUGE variety of doll and collectible items, including some imports that you usually only see at comic book stores. Here's a looksee:

    1. Thanks, Georgia Girl! I would say that they have more toys than a Tuesday Morning or Big Lots, but not as many as Walmart or Target.

  2. Super film! Zazdroszczę Wam takich sklepów z zabawkami! Widziałam tam kilka lalek, które bardzo chciałabym mieć! Może kiedyś pojawią się i u nas podobne sklepy!
    Dziękuję i pozdrawiam serdecznie!

    1. Dziękuję, Olla! Oni rzeczywiście mają kilka zabawek, które moi regularnych sklepach nie sprzedają, więc istnieją pewne chciałbym zbyt.

  3. I have never thought of eating at B & N, but now I never will. You have to wonder if the people who make the food taste the food or if they even had taste buds. Maybe they are more artistic than able to cook.

    1. Janainah, I wasn't expecting it to be great because they don't actually cook anything - there's no kitchen, lol. I assumed they got stuff delivered in and they refrigeratored it and then heated and served. But no, it was all frozen. Which wouldn't be a problem except the pizza tasted like it had been frozen for 5 years and then microwaved. The cupcake was the worst offense because it tasted like it had been frozen, thawed, didn't sell, was refrozen again, rethawed and then served to me. Gross.

  4. I haven't been inside a B&N in more than a year, but your video just made me look up the nearest one and figure out how to get there! Anything I buy is on your shoulders! ;)

    1. Lots of goodies there, jSarie, but I take no responsibility for your depleted wallet.

  5. That is one nice B & N! Bringing in collectibles is a smart idea. I use to go to the one near me all the time until they closed it. It was actually a cool place to hang out.

    1. Just My Dolls, I have noticed the same people there day in and day out. Plenty of people use bookstores like libraries and sit around reading without buying which is probably why so many are closed.

  6. That's a nice group of toys! I can see parents buying a LEGO book, for example, and then picking up a LEGO toy. AG also has Girl of the Year dolls by the books, sometimes. I haven't gone to the B&N near me in ages, since it's in one of those outdoor malls where you can't just pop in and out.

My daughter sometimes gets Starbucks cards as gifts from the girls whose dance classes she assists. She was miffed to find that she couldn't use a Starbucks gift card at the stores inside B&N. She's never said anything to me about how stuff tastes, but I think she and her friend go for the frou-frou drinks more.

    1. Barb, I'm not a AG collector or dolls of that size in general so I didn't even notice if they sold dolls like that, but they probably do. They also have lots of toy/book tie ins as well like you mentioned.

People are usually getting teas and coffee from the B&N café. I'm probably the only idiot getting the pizza.

Speaking of not being able to use the Starbucks card, they also are not affiliated with The Cheesecake Factory even though they sell cupcakes that say, "The Cheesecake Factory" on them! They are right next door to a CCF so I thought they were getting their cupcakes from them. I had never been to one before and I wanted to try a fresh made cupcake, so I went to CCF the next day and imagine my surprise that they don't even make cupcakes! The server dude said they have nothing to do with B&N, that people just slap their name on stuff. The Cheesecake Factory itself was a HUGE disappointment, but that's another story, lol, and not even remotely doll related.

  7. I want to have a Barnes and Noble here! I love the aesthetic of the place, it looks more like a traditional book store. Where I live, the biggest book store feels so cluttered and I feel very stressed when I have to find something. And look at those Funko figures, they seem to have plenty! Here they are very hard to find.

    Loved your video!

    1. Monster, I'm not a Funko collector, but they do have a large variety of them. I just focused on the few that tickled me. Our Walmarts are carrying Funko's now and it's the first year they've done that so they must be gaining popularity.

    2. I don't have any Funko figures yet, but I want a few of them. I wanted to buy a Darth Vader for my boyfriend this Christmas, but I didn't manage to find one on time. Maybe next year.

  8. Thanks for that tour. This bookstore really has a lot of toys. I also like the decor.
There are two huge bookstores in Montreal;Indigo and Archambault, but oddly enough I haven't seen toys like vinyl dolls linked to movies, comics or shows yet, though Indigo had Elsa's Castle/dollhouse and lots of plush stuff like Groovy Girls and they have a pretty big Anime section.
I've never eaten or had anything to drink at either of them but judging by the number of people eating there, I'm hoping it's good. Oddly enough there is no food smell to detect even when you walk by their café. Suspicious, right?

    1. Maricha, I have to assume that our bookstores sell such a hodge podge of items as a way to attract more customers on the off chance that SOMEONE will actually buy something instead of just loitering around or coming in to just use the bathroom, lol, like I do. I have not purchased a print book since Harry Potter 1-6 (never did get 7). Books online and ereaders have killed many a book store.

Many cafes inside of other stores rarely cook anything. But weirdly enough a lot of our gas stations have other stores inside them that do cook things. It's mostly subs and pizza shops.

  9. I love, love, love Barnes and Noble..I don't get there very often, but I could spend hours in there browsing the books and looking at everything. I was surprised to see so many toys/collectibles in there the last few times I've gone. I just need to find a way to go there without my kids in toy. ;)

    1. LOL @ "Kids in toy." If they go, Farrah, they would definitely be "in toy." That section is always full of kids screaming and not wanting to leave.

  10. Okay established fact: I enjoy Muff videos. I laughed about the food comments. Thanks for the warning.

OT: I would LOVE to read your Cheesecake Factory review.

Seeing the range of dolls and collectibles available was a pleasant surprise. I have so gotta go to B&N.

    1. D7ana, even if you don't buy anything, I think their stores are worth the trip for eye candy alone.

I had only seen The Cheesecake Factory on The Big Bang Theory and the real deal was NOTHING like that, so that probably hyped my disappointment. The food was overpriced and not that good, but worst of all it was the most garish, loudest, DARKEST restaurant I'd ever been in. I had to use the light on my phone to see the menu. Even the bathroom was dark. I'm too country for all that "atmosphere."
