Doll Show and a Little Vacation

Here's a video:

Here's some pics. ^--^

This was the only thing I purchased, a Harley Ken for $10. Everyone else probably has one of these, but I wasn't collecting when he came out so I was all, "GASP!" when I saw him.

I didn't photograph my booth since it was the same setup as last time. The show was great and I was so happy to sell out of the 50+ dolls I brought. One lady bought 23 dolls! She said they were for her grandkids. All I could think was, "Dang, Lady! How many grandkids you got?!" I gave her a stack of clothes for the dolls for free. She deserved it!

Per usual, I carry a doll with me when I travel but I rarely have time to take photos or I forget about it. This time I made an effort and took a few pics at the amusement park. People looked at me funny but no one said anything.

  1. I can't believe you took more outside shots, Muff. I know how you don't particularly like doing it. Good for you! The doll looks good. What amusement park is that?

    1. Thanks, Jaye! I went to Universal Studios in Orlando. I figured people would be too busy enjoying themselves to come over and bother me so I felt okay taking photos. I also wasn't laying on the ground or anything and I stood in some out of the way spots.

  2. You're so brave! I would love to take outdoor pics of my dolls but I'm afraid of the stares I know I'll get.

    1. Champagne, I don't mind the stares so much. It's the people who actually approach you that bug me. That didn't happen this time though, so yay!

    Pozdrawiam serdecznie!

    1. LOL, Grandmommy! That was my problem the first time I started selling and then I went cold turkey. That Ken doll was the first one I've purchased at a show in the last two years. He was worth breaking my streak.

  7. Applause! Congrats on getting the 3rd HD Ken! I don't have him - hadn't wanted him, but he looks so deliciously poseable ... and cute! Congrats also on selling all your dolls. And having a good time photographing outside. Yay, Muff!

    1. D7ana, it's not like I don't have that face sculpt, but he was worth the articulation and that tattoo.

    1. Good luck, Georgia Girl! I was so stoked when I sold all those dolls. When that lady came and purchased the rest of the dolls that I had I did a little happy dance in my head.

  9. Wow, you sold them all?! That's amazing! How did you do on your clothes/accessories?

Your doll looks like she had a great time at Universal Studios! I especially like the composition of the third picture. I'm way too nervous to take my dolls out in public for pics often, and a crowded place like a theme park would probably do me in, lol!

    2. Presto, I had a huge stack of thrift dolls since there is usually only 1 doll out of 3 in the bag that I want. I've been carting those dolls back and forth to shows for years. I still have bunches of dolls at home though, lol.

I took less clothes this time and more accessories. According to my handy dandy sales app I sold 146 accessories.

    3. That is a lot of accessories!

  10. Ollie, I love Islands of Adventure. It's my favorite theme park. I'd go every weekend if I could afford the gas.

  11. Congrats on not having any dolls to pack up and take back home! And I don't have Harley Ken, so I was all, "GASP!" when I saw you got him for $10. I'm glad you had some fun at the theme park, too. We're going back to Orlando this year and Universal Studios is on our list.

    1. Thanks, Jewell! I think that HD Barbie & Ken set came out in 2009 and I didn't start collecting until 2012. If I would have seen one I probably would have been tempted to get him for full price back then.

  14. What a great show! I'm glad you sold everything ;)
I would be insane in a show like that one :P In Portugal we only recently started having the Barbie Convention and even that is quite expensive to attend.

    1. Thanks, V! Heck, I don't even go to the Barbie Convention in the States because it's so expensive.
