LIV Making Waves Jake

Saw this tonight at Walmart.  And nope I didn't buy any dolls.  I only went there to buy groceries. Since I have not yet completed three projects I knew I could not purchase any toy items.  I just happened to be passing by and saw this. [*looks away sneakily*]  Ahem.  Anyway, it's a good deal because when I got mine on sale at TRU, it was $7.50.

I know some people aren't into "short" dolls, but he has so much better articulation than a Fashionista and I don't mind small statured dudes myself.  Here's a height comparison:

His knees don't pivot like a Fashionista, but they can bend at a perfect angle and underneath him.  He also can twist and pivot at the waist and bend his ankles.  You'll have to shave about 1/8" off of his neck nob to get any other head to fit properly, but it was easy to do with an exacto knife.

Next to the ladies he does alright.

  1. Hello Hey, It's Muff: thanks for your comment as cute. Ilove tea shop but in Spain there are very few places like that. My computer gives me this error and take advantage and get back to you from yours. I see that Liv are slightly lower than the Barbies but being so cheap in your city you have to take and purchase. Also you have more clothes and always ideal. Happy 2012 are still in contact blog blog.

  3. Happy 2012 Marta! Liv are shorter than Barbie because they have flat feet. I like that my dolls are different heights.

  4. Happy New Year, Georgia Girl! You mean the Power Team SWAT Asian, right? It's his body, just not his hands. I have 4 Power Team guys, 2 with black gloves and 2 with hands. I just switch them out as needed.

  6. Hey Chynadoll :) The hands should pull out really easily. I did have one hand that was a bit of a struggle getting back in.

  9. I did that same thing with the liv bodies! I bought 4 of them for my Kens. I just hated those legs and I needed ones that could sit on horses and bikes. I'm short myself so them being shorter doesn't really bother me. but I wish Mattel would change that body mold that have for fashionista Kens. I actually Liked the old Ken body better *2010 i think the tall skinny one* mainly because it was so posable..

Have you gotten the new Ryan Doll? I ordered 2 off Amazon and get them in the other day, Mattel actually took a step back with his body *but the head I think is the best face mold they've ever done* but the body have the Swimming ken legs that dont even have the knee joints! so I switched one of them to the LIV body I had free. Butt I'll have to get some more of those Bodies for the other Ryan head I got.. I wish I could find them at the store for $6.9! I think I paid the $7.50 on Toys R Us.com for 3 of them and like $11 on Amazon for 1.

and i too have both of the asians dolls here! I too am big on asian male dolls and I collect those Power Team Elite Figures! I have pretty much everyone I've seen. I make a lot of military type sets.. but some of them have great face molds, my only issue is their hip/waist area is too big for most ken pants but the Justin Beiber doll pants fit perfectly.

    1. Hi, Cole. I don't have the new Ryan doll yet. I'm waiting until he hits the stores in my area. The price at Amazon is way too high for me. I've heard about his body so I'm willing to wait until he's cheaper in the stores. Love his face mold though and his shirt.

I wish more Asian males would be produced state side. Either from Mattel or more from Power Team because they did a great job on the SWAT guy.

Thanks for stopping by. If you have a blog, let me know about it. I'd loved to see your sets.
