Bratz Boutique Angel Cloe & Co

I was on my way to Panda Express to get some Kung Pao when my spidey sense went off that I needed to go to Toys R Us ASAP.  I always listen to that tingle and I'm rarely disappointed.  Today was no exception.

Bratz Boutique, Catz and True Hope lines were all on clearance for $9.98!  While that's a good deal on dolls that used to be $19.99 (Catz) and $14.99 (Hope), it's an EXCELLENT deal on a set that used to be $26.99.  That's 63% off!  *dances*  Although they had the Yasmin and Sasha versions, I only got Cloe.

Front of box

Back of box

Removed from exterior box and side panels extended

Insert removed from backdrop box

A Barbie can fit inside the backdrop.  However, once she has shoes on she'll be too snug to walk under the sign.  I was away from home when I took these photos.  It's not weird that I carry a nekkid doll in my bag so I can test the scale of things no matter where I am, is it? Nah, of course it's not weird! *cough cough*

Anyway back to the Boutique:

Extra fashion and mannequin

Boots and a shoe box.

Close up of register and scanner

Salesperson and display unit

For the new price I say this is well worth the money.  I love the backdrop and wish all sets came this way.  Mattel produces some really nice backgrounds that I collect but they always have the slits and slices in them.  What a wonderful idea it would be to have a clean background with every doll and set.

These are the other versions available:

Sasha Boo.  I didn't care for the clothes or backdrop in this one and I prefer the more traditional display unit opposed to this round holed one.

MGA Image

Yasmin Chic. I wasn't feeling this one either. I don't mind the hippie dippie fashions, but maybe I do, because I didn't purchase it.

L.O.V.E Jade.  TRU did not have the Jade Boutique so this weekend I'll go to another store to see if they have her.  Because I found two versions online I'm curious to see which one is in stock.  Even with the round hole display I like both of the versions.  They have an Asian Gothic flavor that appeals to me.

The Boutique display items seem well made (not the jewelry, that's just crap) and I even like the little register and scanner sounds.  I'm going to recommend any of these versions - assuming you get them for $9.98!

  3. It pays to pay attention to the spidey sense. :D Congrats on your excellent deal. As for carrying a nikkid dolly in your purse - yes, perhaps a teeny tiny bit weird but I plan to start doing it myself. So often one absolutely needs a nikkid doll in their purse! I know you know what I mean. *sheepish grin*

    1. LOL, Roville. So we are weird, but it's okay, we're doll collectors. These things happen.

  4. Pretty nice set! I can't say anything about the doll, since Bratz are not my cup of tea, but her accesories are interesting, I especially like her skirt.
L.O.V.E Jade indeed reminds of Gothic Lolita style! Not really in my taste, but very original! I have seen such in Japan, one of my friend's girlfriend was a Gothic Lolita, though more sweet type, wearing baby blue coat and fluffy bunny ears :D

    1. Jewel snake, you know I avoided Bratz for a mighty long time and even now I still don't use their heads (or the LIV head for that matter). But the older articulated bodies are really nice and if you collect Monsters their fashions work for them as well.

And "Lolita!" Man, I couldn't think of that word for nothing. I kept muttering, "now what do you call that style? Baby doll? No, that's not it." Finally I just went with "Asian Gothic."

  5. Great purchase!! I would buy any of them with that prize, but here these sets are quite expensive... I agree with you, Mattel should include clean backstages in each doll, it's a great idea.

    1. Thanks, Rossetti. It's a good price but I never would have paid $26.99 for it so I can imagine it's really expensive in your country.

  7. I'm really happy about your EPIC score. Too bad my mom doesn't like to drive to Jackson( That's where our only tru is) .

My mom said she liked the second version of Jade' s Boutique better. I do also. But I think it is just a prototype. Very sad. *whimpers* I hope to get the Jade boutique either way.

    1. Oh also did you notice your package came with an extra gold earring?

    2. Yeah, Tracey, I think that second Jade is the prototype as well. It's almost too cool to be true. Your mom has good taste though!

I did notice that extra earring. It fell out when I pulled out the insert. I was like, "What the heck?!" I shook the box some more, but nothing else fell out.

    3. Yeah it is to good to be true and that's sad cause it's super cute. I'll tell her you said that.

Lol. I would of been all like score, now if I accendently lose one I'll have an extra. When I opened my Bratz Funk 'N Glow Jade, there was a sunflower seed like they were eating it while packaging it. Gross!

If you are interested I posted another Photo Story.

  8. Very interesting sets ! I don't have Bratz, but I think that her some accessories are fantastic. I like skirt from the first and next photos. It's great... but is cheap.

    1. Greetings, Marille! That is a sweet skirt she is wearing. I'm not usually the flowery type but the flared skirt and big roses on black is rather chic.

  9. Nice score! I love all the sets. I especially love all the outfits. The hippie dippy one is calling my name. I'm not even going to go looking because it's just not in the budget. The yard man will be taking a huge chunk of change tomorrow.

    1. Vanessa, I don't think that TRU double downs in price like Target does on its clearance items. If they did I might get the other sets I didn't want, hippy dippy or not.

  12. There is absolutely nothing strange about carrying a naked doll around in your bag. I mean, we all do that, right?

    1. Okay, Anderson, so now that is 3 people that carry a naked doll in their bag. We are in good company!

  13. Excellent deal! I don't really collect Bratz, but this set is super cool. I have picked up a couple from the thrift store, but no feet makes it difficult. Lol! I am so grateful the outfits come with shoes.

    1. Georgia Girl, the no feet is an issue that I've overcome as my peg shoes have slowly built up. I even have some that are just plain feet!

  14. I like the idea of carrying a naked doll, too. What I have done in toy stores is pull a boxed doll off the shelf to compare, but my own naked doll will help at times when there are no other similar-sized dolls. Thanks for sharing that tip.

    1. Dana, I used to compare with a boxed doll, but a lot of times I need to tell how something looks with a doll sitting down or want to see something in a dolls hands. That's when nekkid doll does her thing,

  15. I'm in love with Jade! Unfortionately, I don't have enough money to buy her (since Monster High Scaris just came out here and I spent all my money on Skelita ♥-♥) Sasha wasn't even released here.
I even participated in a contest to win one of these but I lost and the winner eventually sold her doll and extra clothing set on an auction site O_o
You got a really great deal though but hey, what is a Muff without a nekkid doll in her bag and great bargain in her hand?
    No Muff, that is.

    1. Tali, finding Jade at a different store was great. I like her set best out of all of them. It's not as cool as the prototype but darn close.

  16. hi, i hopped over here after van's doll treasures linked to your barbie book project (which is awesome btw, i plan on trying that out). i added you and i'm reading through your archives, so don't be surprised if you get a bunch of comments on old posts soon. :-)

i think all the accessories that come with these sets are super cute, but i'm not into bratz. but i do collect the monster high dolls. above you said the clothes will fit the monsters, does this include the sunglasses? i am assuming the shoes are pegleg shoes, which is too bad. i would be super stoked if the sunglasses would fit though. i'd like to have some non-gimmick eyewear for them.

    1. Nice to meet you, Queen! If you have a blog that I can follow back, let me know.

I don't have any Monsters with side ears so I'm basing this on Clawdeen only. The Bratz glasses are too big in that they protrude past the head, BUT the hair hides that. If your Monster has side ears they may stay upright without having to rubberband them to her head.

The glasses that fit Monsters best are LIV and Justin Bieber. Also, Bratz skirts and shirts fit Monsters, but pants are a little iffy if they are tight in the legs.

Yes, all Bratz shoes are pegleg, but Bratzillaz shoes are not pegleg and will fit a Monster nicely.

    2. hi Muff! thanks for the info. using some Monster glasses on my Clawdeen for a reference, sounds like these Bratz glasses are going to be big on the normal eared ones. so I guess I'll wait and try to catch the set on clearance. thanks for the tip about Liv and Bieber glasses, I'll keep an eye out.

I have a doll blog at http://queenofthedolls.blogspot.com/ it's mostly Monsters now, and I'm crap at keeping it updated, but I'd love to have you along!

    3. LOL, Queen. Crap updating or not, I'm always interested in what other doll people are doing. I'm following you back!
