Wasabicon 2014

Held on November 1st and 2nd of 2014 in my home town, this was my first time attending Wasabicon, a anime/gaming convention. I had a blast and will definitely attend next year if they hold it here again. Since this isn't really 1:6 scale related, I'll keep it short (ha ha, as if) and just show you the stuff I bought. At the end is a little video of the event. ^__^

A sexy wallet

Link mousepad
(Legend of Zelda was my game back in the day!... and Pokémon)

Fans - because I'm fancy that way
And because I get hot flashes

Naurto Leaf Village Headband with Shuriken (throwing star)

Cute chopsticks because I eat a lot of bento boxes

All of the next items came from the same vendor, BlackFlameCreations, and he makes the most wonderful custom creations and oddities.

This was a Nerf gun but now it's a steampunk masterpiece.

This little box simply lights up in rotating colors.
It pleased me to look upon it, so I thought what the heck.

He had a lot of customized goggles but I just got a plain pair because I was running out of money, lol.

My favorite thing he had is this ring. Makes me think of knights and dragons.

That's as far as my money went, so here's the video!:

  1. That steampunk Nerf gun makes the list of Coolest Things Ever. I had to go stare at BlackFlame Creations' site for a while. The ring definitely speaks to a person's inner dragon.

Pinkie Pie was adorable... it looks like this was fun!

  2. Thanks, Smaller! That Black Flame guy is a master craftsman. I was so impressed with his work and just kept going back to his booth again and again.

    1. Hey, Georgia Girl! I did shoot it with my iPhone. I put it on one if those mini tripods so I could shoot with one hand instead of two. It seemed to make the video not quite as wobbly as usual.

    1. jSarie, seeing the cosplayers is probably my favorite part of these events. I love that people dress up with no shame in their game.

  9. I like the Nerf gun and the light up box, but I'm returning to watch the video on YouTube. I haven't attended any conventions lately. So it was like being at one. Looks fun to dress up and see crafts and figures - did you dress up? I've never done so, but now I'm thinking, once. Once I have to dress up and do a Convention. Wonder who to go as ... Zoe from Firefly? A cat person? In steampunk attire? Oh the possibilities ;-)

    Thanks for sharing.

    1. D7ana, I have been to many, MANY conventions and have never cosplayed. I love seeing it, being around it... photographing it, lol. However, dressing up is an explicit invitation to not only have your photo taken, but to have people approach and talk to you. Ugh, I cannot.
