Action Figures, Ho!

I had such plans for this holiday weekend.  Shopping, projects ... eating foods that are bad for me.  I did have some fried catfish (delish), but that's the only thing I can tick off my list.  I didn't go to Walmart, Big Lots or Family Dollar like I intended.  When the time came I was just like, "Ugh."  I didn't do any projects either.  Again, I was all, "Pfffft."

I did do some house work though, which is when I became reacquainted with some very old friends.  They haven't been dusted in forever.  They sit high on top of my entertainment furniture and since they are more for looking at than playing with I rarely move them, thus the excessive dust. 0.o

As I was looking at these figures that I've had for over 15 years, I thought about how my family never gave me grief over them the way that they do with my fashion doll collection.  Maybe it's because even as a kid I liked "action" figures, but not dolls, so they cant fathom the change.  Or perhaps they think dolls are too girly for my butch persona.  Or maybe they're just a couple of butt monkeys. ^_^

You know, I never did designate this as a 1:6 doll blog but I guess that's what it is because I felt really weird about not having a 1:6 doll photo, so I'm throwing one in, lol.

Anthony Rodriguez, his sister Carmen and their first cousin, Rae (standing).  I'm pretending that their mothers are twins and that's why Carmen and Rae look alike even though they have different body types.

Whew, that's better.  Hey, he's a man of "action," so he's a perfect addition to the post.  Actually, I think the "Man of Action" tag is for G.I. Joe's but whatever, Power Team guys are awesome too.

    1. Hey there, Dollz4Moi! I used have bunches of action figures and little Pokemon throughout my entertainment towers but as I slowly started to fill them with music and movies the poor action figures got packed away or sold with only a few making it safe to the top.

    1. LOL, Vanessa. Now that you say that I think that most of my action figures were armed or battle ready - even the Pokemon.

Power Team is really pressing onward with the new guys! I picked up two more versions earlier this month. The faces are great and the clothing more relaxed!

    1. LOL, Pam! I think it's more likely that I would part of the action crew instead of the princess.

  8. Wow, nice collection of action figures. I really like Vash. It's amazing that usually a collector normally have more than one hobby or thing that they choose to collect at the same time. My other love is Teddy bears (was actually my first love) and coins (nickels). Great post!

    1. Thanks, Mustiwait! Rae is one of those over the top kids. I don't know why but she gives me a Willow Smith vibe while Carmen is much more sedate.

  12. Muff, I love how Xena and Callisto in the first photo have a gleeful gleam in their eyes as though they've seen a particularly toothsome beast or man that they are going to pulverize with Callisto's ax and Xena's hand weapon, lol.

Love the playscale photo though, too (my weakness). Power Team guys forever ;-D

    1. Ack, Sergio! Too bad you didn't know me years ago when I sold off most of my Xena collection. I'll have to check my storage boxes but I'm sure other than these few pieces I wanted to keep, the rest were sold or I "experimented" on them.

    2. Sorry, Sergio. The few Xena toys in my storage are very much worse for wear. I'm unfortunately hard on my toys, lol.
