2014 Isn't Over

My first few posts for 2015 will be all about stuff I did in 2014 actually. I'm so slow, lol. November and December were very busy for me work wise. I traveled WAY more for work than I would have liked, but I still did a lot of fun stuff for myself in between.

Went to Wasabicon and I'm working on a video about that.
No, that's not me. I'm a lady.

Went to a doll show and working on a video about that too.

Spent my birthday in Orlando and had a wonderful time.

Went to a museum fashion exhibit.
It was pretty cool, but not exactly my cup of tea.

While I was on the road for work I stayed in several hotels.

The best was the Residence Inn in Sebring, FL.

The worst was the Microtel Inn in Zephyrhills, FL.

Just a little fyi in case you are ever in either of those places.

When I would come home I would always make my weekly visit to the Thrift Store. During November and December I found so much stuff you would not believe it. I'm going to do a couple of posts to show it all to you.

One thing I started working on in December and still need to finish are some display units I'm building. I applied to be a vendor for a doll show in February and still don't know if I got in. In case I do, I want to be prepared. And in case I don't, I didn't want to spend any money so that's why I'm making my own displays out of cardboard, foam and paper.

Well, that's what I've been up to and what I've been working on.

Let's all have a good 2015 and I'll see you more in the new year!

  1. That does sound like a busy and adventurous fall... looking forward to hearing about the details.

Also eyeing speculatively the display construction, as there were some holiday adventures that led to a population explosion, with the result that I want to build a sort of bleacher thing or two, to simplify seating.

    1. Hi, Smaller! The displays I'm making are on the larger, kinda showy side, but scaled back they might work for what you have in mind. I'm telling you right now though, that I'm making a hot mess as I figure it out what I'm designing.

    1. Thanks, Night Owl! Happy New Year to you too. Looks like the guy who is running the show is having some medical issues and has already had to cancel the first show he was supposed to do in January and if he's not recovered, the February show wont happen either. I'm still going to build my sets though since I already started them.

  4. Happy new year - actually, I'm not quite done with 2014 yet either, particularly not blogwise. The size of that thrift store promises good things, I'm curious about your finds!

    1. Thanks, Tracy India! Don't be floored yet, lol. The display is kinda funky on the inside, but hopefully covering it will hide the mess I'm making.

  6. That cosplay looks so good! <3 I'm thrilled about both of the videos. : D
Hopefully your birthday was a blast and you enjoyed it.
The stand looks good so far and making one yourself wasn't a bad idea, you often save in costs a lot when it's homemade. : >

    1. Hiya, Debbie! Looks like the show might not happen due to the guy in charge having some medical problems but I'm committed to the displays anyway even though I'll probably just dismantle them again.

    1. Marta, Orlando is a great destination. I only live 2.5 hours away so you would think I would go more often. It's expensive though so that's probably why I don't, lol.

    1. Hi, Georgia Girl! Happy New Year! I've set up some tables in my living room so I can do a mock up of what my booth will look like even if I don't actually get to do the show. I'll show it off either way.
