    1. Jay, I'm going to need a reflector or some aluminum foil to cast off all this shade you are throwing, lol!

  2. So many brilliant finds there! But is it weird that I think I've fallen in love with that little treadmill? I've never seen one of those before, but it looks awesome.

    1. jSarie, it's not weird at all because that set has some really nicely detailed pieces, including the treadmill. I didn't even realize that the "water" comes out of the tub until I dropped it so that a doll can fit fully inside it. I do appreciate an attention to detail.

  3. I'm no longer a lurker and have to speak out. I'm so envious of the car collection alone. Here in New Orleans I stop by and shop at Goodwill, Salvation Army, Red White and Blue and every mom and pop thrift store within a 50 mile radius at least once a week and have NEVER found ANY good BARBIE items. My luckiest finds are LIV dolls but I once purchase a car that was available. I do have the Bratz lipstick case. I'm still trying to replace several things that was destroyed from Hurricane Katrina but I guess no was able to salvage their doll stuff. I would be in HEAVEN and BROKE if I lived anywhere near your area but I'll be so happy.

    1. Welcome, Unlurker Kat! I had been collecting for two years before I found this store and like you, every thrift store I went to before netted me not much of nuthin'. Stumbling across this store has been a wonderful treat.

I had never seen or even heard of the Bratz lipstick case. I think it would look great in a clothing store diorama.

    2. Hi Kat,

Welcome to the community. I was really lucky not to lose any of my dolls in Katrina. I know a lady whose whole doll room was flooded and she lost everything. After the flood one of my friends found two of his special dolls in the mud under his porch. Who knows how they got swept out of the house but he was glad to have them.

I relocated to Atlanta but I haven't found a thrift store here that comes anywhere near Muff's. Good luck replacing your treasures!

  4. OMG!!!! It's official, I am so jealous! In a good jealous way. Lol! You totally hit the jackpot! Your cars are totally awesome! This whole haul is awesome. Everything is good conditions and your pictures are phenomenal. Great job Muff on making us salivate. Lol! No seriously, I am SO happy for you!!! I know how I am when I just find one item at the thrift store, so I can imagine the joy all of this is bringing you. To do the video is perfect!

    1. Georgia Girl, you just have to take a trip on down to Florida! Cross that state line, girl. I will say that everything in the store is not in good condition because plenty of times I've rumbled about, "Now why are they even selling this broke 'ish?!" I'm just an anal inspector and buy stuff that's in decent enough condition.

    1. Grandmommy, I was thinking of you when I was playing with the smaller sets since you do smaller scale. I was like, "I bet Grandmommy could fill this joint up."

  7. Very cute stuff! Maybe the smaller scale houses can be play houses for the little girls. Thanks for sharing.

    1. Phyllis, when I saw them in the store I thought about using the smaller houses as play houses for the larger dolls, but I think it would work better with 16 inch dolls, because they are kinda big for 12 inch dolls to be playing with them.

  8. I really enjoyed the video. I passed up a Kia Soul this week. I don't really need anymore doll stuff but I did pick up a Bratz doll with eyelashes and a Skipper doll for 99 cents each.

    1. KMQ, I thought that Kia Soul was some kind of new black doll, but I have since found out it's a car, lol! I've been seeing quite a few of the older, blonde Skipper at the thrift store too.

  10. See... 1:24 just sucks a person in because it's so little and cute and manageable!

I'm downright infatuated with the little 1:6 apartment where the bath tub flips over, though.

Amazing cars, too. Your haul is endlessly fascinating!

    1. Smaller, so it IS called 1:24? I wasn't sure. I was trying to break it down in my head what size could fit through the door and 1:24 is the best my brain could handle.

  11. WOW! I loved the vidio with all the cool stuff! I purchased a vehicle the end of the year but I don't think I have as many as you. I'd love to make videos as good as you do.

    1. Thanks, Ms. Leo! As we speak I have found 13 cars, 9 motorcycles and 1 tour bus at this particular thrift store. More than enough to open up a chop shop.

I'm using my iPhone 4s to make my videos and using the free Windows movie maker to edit them. The best advice I can give is to use a tripod and have at least two 100 watt daylight bulbs pointed at your subject.

  12. Lord...I've died and gone to plastic heaven! My favorite things are the cars, of course and that Moxie Teenz fashion airbrush shop. I love the way it looks closed, perfect for a street scene. I saw one on eBay...really reasonable but clicked and saw that shipping and it quickly got stupid. :-/

Fantastic haul! But wait...there will be boats? Wooooo hooooo

    1. Tracy, I like that Moxie shop from the back more than I like the interior, actually. I love that brick detail and the shape of the roof. eBay shipping costs are such a scam! They lure you in with low starting bids and then zap you with ridiculous shipping.

Oh, there will be boats AND planes.

  14. Awesome finds! The Bratz carrying case and the little treadmill were probably my faves. The airbrush set also caught my attention. I love the cars of course, but they seem a little overpriced for the thrift store. Still good prices, though.

  15. I just thought about something....maybe the car prices in the video were for three cars each. If that was the case, then those were crazy steals!

    1. Vanessa, those cars are individually priced and you are right, they are overpriced! Cars like those used to be $5. They doubled the prices last year. :(
