I was in Dollar Tree and passed by this Mermaid display:
Something about it made me do a double take and go over for a closer look:
LOLOL, now that I'm looking at these photos, I kinda regret not getting her. If she's still there the next time I go to the store, I'll get her and wipe away the off center eye so I can have myself a Mermaid Cyclops.
Wow, even the top of her garment is crooked. It is pretty funny!
ReplyDeleteLOL, Phyllis! I didn't even notice her top was wonky too.
DeleteLOL. Although it's true, there's something about being so askew that's a little charming!
ReplyDeletejSarie, I know! She definitely stands out.
DeleteLol!!!!!! That is so funny! Lol!! Yes, please take her home. The poor doll will probably not get purchased. The QC person must have been drunk.
ReplyDeleteLOL, Georgia Girl, they were drunk AND high.
DeleteOh my gosh, I hope she's there when you go back. Who doesn't want a mermaid cyclops???
ReplyDeleteOK, Monster High... there's a free idea for ya. ;)
Sarah, it's only a matter of time before Monster High does a freaky fusion of one. They already have a Cyclops and a Mermaid, so why not, lol.
DeleteWow, there's poor quality control, and just not giving a hoot.
ReplyDeletePresto, it IS the dollar store, so they kinda don't give a hoot, lol.
DeleteWell, have you seen those purported mermaid bodies? They're scary creatures! :D
ReplyDeleteAnderson, just last weekend I saw my first mermaid horror movie on YouTube. It was pretty intense, lol. I never really thought of mermaids as scary before.
DeleteI love how the shirt matches the wonk!
ReplyDeleteBlackKitty, at least she's consistent. ^_^
DeleteNote to self: When a post from Muff starts out with 'LOL'...don't take a swig of juice while reading...LOL. Mattel's consumer complaint department is poppin' their collar right about now.
ReplyDeleteLOL, Tracy! Yes, for once Mattel is looking pretty good right about now.
DeleteHello from Spain: the place of the eyes is a big mistake of painting. keep in touch
ReplyDeleteHiya, Marta! And it's such a pretty eye too.
DeleteLOL! a cyclop mermaid! I hope you will still find her!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to keep an EYE out for her, Billa. LOLOL I laughed at my own joke.
DeleteŻal mi się zrobiło tej lalki! Jak można wypuścić taki bubel! Straszne to i smutne.
ReplyDeletePozdrawiam serdecznie!
Olla, to kosztuje tylko dolara, więc nie sądzę, jakość jest coś, czego dążyć. To jest to, co sprawia, że będzie zabawy sklepie dolara!
DeleteA mermaid Cyclops. Now that is funny.
ReplyDeleteJanainah, nothing wrong with a one eyed fishie, lol.
DeleteShe has good self-esteem too! Look at how much she is smiling! LOLOLOL
ReplyDeleteLOL, Grandmommy! That smile does seem to say that she's not bothered by her wonky eyes.
DeleteOMG - Clone Cyclops Barbie! Aaaaiiiieeee!
ReplyDeleteRun for your life, D7ana! She's on land and she's taking names!
DeleteI was quaking in my sandals til I remembered - Xena! And how the mermaid tail would slow Clone Cyclops Mermaid Barbie down. Whew. Yeah, I'm cool now, lol.
DeleteDollar store finds can be very funny sometimes, but this one is hilarious!
ReplyDeleteMonster, that's one of the fun things about the dollar store. Even if it's junk, it's still only a dollar.
DeleteAnd some things can be repainted or recycled to fit your dolls' needs
DeleteAt first I thought it was just the effect of photographing through the plastic but obviously not. I hope you do get her and we see photographs after you have removed the other eye. She will definitely be OOAK.
ReplyDeleteCarrickters, you cant get more OOAK than a one eyed mermaid. I bet I could sell her on eBay.
DeleteThat's just plain wrong! I'm laughing and shaking my head at the same time.
ReplyDeleteJewell, C'mon. Isn't it just a little bit right? Look how special she is. Stands out in a crowd, dresses how she wants - quite the empowering role model I say!
DeletePoor gal -- she's probably always swimming sideways! You may need a cyclops mermaid.
ReplyDelete"She's probably always swimming sideways!" Smaller, that made me laugh for a good minute.
DeleteThis Barbie is a very 'poor', because she has eyes in the wrong place ;) She is like a cyclops mermaid.
ReplyDeleteCordially greetings from Poland :-)
Greetings from Florida, Marille and thanks for stopping by!
DeleteLOL. I once encountered an otherwise nice doll with one eye painted up side down. :)
ReplyDeleteIHime, I've seen some weird stuff, but nothing like one eye upside down.
DeleteThere are more things in heaven and earth... I bet the dollar store dolls still hold things to amaze us. ;)
DeleteOh poor dear!!! Makes you wonder how awake the people were who put her together!!!
ReplyDeleteLOL at your "Oh poor dear!!!," April. She's not that bad, lol. Just a wee bit different.
DeleteLol, we have this saying: one eye to Maroco, second to Caucas. She surely is...special.
ReplyDeleteLOL, Major! Maybe a handsome merman was going down the isle and she wanted a look without being too obvious.
DeleteOh goodness. I needed that morning laugh. I will be laughing about that one all day.
ReplyDelete^__^ @ Vanessa.
DeleteWaw ! How they can do dolls like that and see nothing !
ReplyDeleteHi, Shasarignis! I guess they figured it was only a dollar so who is going to complain, lol.
Deletebieduleńka, co jej zrobili...
ReplyDeleteruff morning eh Barbie?
