Let's Go To Michaels

July 4th at Michaels!

  1. I laughed out loud at you buying ALL the white brick paper. I did the same thing when I first discovered it...and then I went to a second store and did it again. That trimmer looks pretty cool. I so wanted to use my 55% off coupon but all my errands that day were no where near a Michael's.

    1. Jewell, if they would have had more of that brick paper I would have gotten it. I was especially glad I grabbed it all because when I got to the counter it still rang up as 59 cents. The cashier called in a price check and was told the sale ended yesterday for paper but someone forgot to remove the sales signs. I lucked out!

I was hoping I could use that trimmer for book making, but it doesn't cut as thick of material as I would like. Oh, well, it's still worth keeping if it stays true to its "self sharpening blade" claims.

    1. Milena, it's actually not that close to me, thus the lack of my going there for only 40% off. I couldn't turn down 55% though!

  3. Witaj Muff! Bardzo bym chciała mieszkać koło takiego sklepu! Bardzo mi się podobały miniatury! U nas takich nigdzie nie widziałam! Piękny film! Dziękuję, że go pokazałaś!
    Pozdrawiam serdecznie!

    1. Zapraszamy, Olla. Cieszę się, że podobał mi się film. Teraz, gdy widziałem te miniatury, to prawdopodobnie będzie tam wrócić.

  4. Why don't we have shops like that in my country? That miniature fan was beyond cute! And those baskets! The paper trimmer looks quite good quality. I'd like to get one at some point, maybe if I find a good offer.

    Cheers!

    1. Monster, you don't have arts & craft stores? Or maybe you have hobby specific stores instead? Next time I get a coupon, I will be going back for that fan. It was solid metal.

    2. We do have some art & craft stores, but not chain stores. I live in a small city, so we don't have much of anything, maybe in bigger cities there's more offer.

  5. Hi Muff!
Funny, the fan caught my eye too! lol Thanks for taking us on a virtual shopping trip. You know a real one could end up costing a lot! :-)

  6. Muff, it's surprising there were no miniatures at Michael's before. I've always seen that at my local stores. Of course, nothing is ever the right size. I think I want one item there, a Japanese structure, for décor. Other than that, I keep hoping there will be something that will work.

I laughed about your needing 55% off to get you to go to the store. I like the paper cutter. I bought a similar one, but not as big as the one you got. I like that you can see the paper and the measurements better.

    1. Janainah, it's been almost a year since I had been to Michaels and none in my area had carried them before. I'm a creature of habit (i.e. freak) and I always go up every isle. If they would have had them before I would have been all over them.

I usually just go to AC Moore because they routinely have 55% off. Joanns is sneaky because they will issue a 60% coupon but when you get to the store EVERYTHING is already on sale so you cant get anything good with the 60% coupon.

  7. Yeah, I've been a little lazy about getting to Michaels (Such a long drive!) Some of those miniatures looked pretty interesting...especially the fan!!! I'll have to make a trip very soon to check that out. Thanks for taking us along for the ride.

    1. April, I act like it's such a super long drive, but it's probably about 20 minutes. Still... gas isn't free, lol.

  8. Congratulations on being the owner of a trimmer!

I admit, I bought the slightly pricey glass jars. They seemed like a thing I needed. My nearest Michael's is the Worst Michael's On The Planet (even the managers say so), but it's better than no Michael's at all. I've also been stocking up on those key-chain doll-sized accessories, as those are being closed out.

    1. Smaller, I do have some of those jars, just not the tiny ones. I know I got them ages ago with a coupon. Next time I go to AC Moore I'll see if they have them as well.

LOL at having the Worst Michael's On The Planet.

  9. Hi, it's been a while since I've been to Michael's as well. Especially since we now also have a Hobby Lobby close by. But I love the miniatures. I guess it's time to take a trip there. Liked the background music by the way.

    1. Hi, Just My Dolls! I rarely go to Hobby Lobby. It really is out of my way, like 40 minutes. They also never have coupons larger than 40%. They'd have to be going out of business to get me to go that far.

Finding music to add is always annoying, so thank you, lol.

  10. Thanks for sharing your craft store trip. I enjoyed seeing the ride to the store as well as the stock of yummy cookies and other food minis and the fan and the craft materials. I need to check our Michaels when I can get out ;-)

    1. D7ana, I actually went back and picked up that fan with another 55% off coupon. It's pretty cool (lol, what a bad pun)!
