An Enjoyable Saturday

This was my first time using a lapel mic so it's all live audio. Talking to myself in public wasn't as difficult or as cringy as I thought it would be. It also made editing the video a lot easier, which is a plus. I used this cheap mic I got from Amazon and it worked okay for only $15 bucks.

  1. I was looking at that Cinderella house too! It's not bad at that price, but I have no room for it. I checked out a Walmart in another part of town today, and came out with nothing. :(

    1. I hear ya, Barb! I have so many thrift store Barbie houses sitting around gathering dust. And yet I stood there for quite sometime admiring that Disney castle. It sure would be nice to have a fresh, untouched house but I really have no place to put it.

  2. I like this live commentary.

The Plaid on Plaid doll I purchased off of the Walmart website has a very shiny face, like it has grease on it, but there isn't really any. Did you notice the same thing?

Lovely in Lilac reminds me of the head sculpt of the Gabriella doll in High School Musical.

    1. Thanks, Oly! While I have seen an overspray of product on some dolls, I didn't notice it on these particular ones. Sometimes that shine is simply an overspray of the chemical put on hair to keep its style. Unfortunately, other times it's residue from the glue inside the head leeching through the vinyl :-(

    2. Oly, my Plaid on Plaid is the same!

    3. Wow they should really fixed it. It's not even a beach-themed doll, lol.

  3. I find it oddly funny that I had Panda Express on my shopping trip today, too. I'm jealous of your AC Moore, what awesome wood furniture for just $1!!

    1. Nothing odd about that Presto. Panda Express is just that delicious, lol! Great taste buds think alike and whatnot.

They don't sell online so if you want some of that wood furniture let me know and I'll send it to you. Just email what kind you want and how many to heyitsmuff at yahoo.

    2. Panda Express: lunch of crafy champions!

Oh awesome! If I get my diorama area set up sometime soon I may have to take you up on that!

  4. I have been lusting over that Disney castle now for a while. I haven't wanted a dollhouse that bad before and like you said, the staircase makes it worth that much. I've seen people spend that much on a plastic staircase on ebay! Nuts. I was thinking what I could do with it to get rid of the girly pink, and transform it for my girls. I love the gold on the stiarcases though. Your acmoore rocks.

    1. Lisa, what I liked most about that castle was that it was mostly blue and hardly had any pink at all. I think it would be easy to transform.

  5. Well I enjoyed our day out. I got to window shopping without the fear of spending money. On top of that I went to lunch and didn't gain a pound.

    1. LOL, Vanessa. If window shopping was a sport I'd be gold medal all the way. Being cheap has its advantages.

  6. That Disney house is pretty massive, but in all the space it takes up, it usually has small rooms. I keep thinking about getting doll houses, but it's easier to build my own rooms to my needs.

I've seen that Shopkins kitchen used for Kelly sized dolls. It's pretty cool.

    1. Jaye, I totally get building your own, but I must say, at least once, I want a fancy out of the box new one.

That's a neat idea to use the Shopkins kitchen as a kid kitchen. Those real kids play kitchens are always ginormous!

  7. Hey Muff, thanks for taking all of us along. You've saved me a trip to Walmart, Target and I'm guessing Michaels that sell pretty much the same stuff as your local crafts store! The mini iron is also good for ironing mini clothes (doll clothes)! Another fun video!!!

    1. April, that mini iron just looks so adorable out of the package. I feel like a mighty giant using it.

    1. Yeah, Georgia Girl, the stores never seems to get stock at the same time. My local Walmart still has some Christmas stock they are trying to get rid of while the one close to work has Valentines and St. Patrick stuff for sale.

  12. What a busy day! Thanks for sharing it. After you mentioned doll stuff being at your local bookstore, I went to mine while I was feeling better and saw the Cinderella house at Indigo Bookstore. One had been assembled and it wasn't too huge.Still, all things considered, I'm not regretting that I decided to create my dollhouse out of a cupboard I bought. That dollhouse takes up too much space considering that you can't put more than a couple of dolls in it.
I loved the unpainted chests of drawers. Too bad the tub was gone.
When you mentioned you were going for ice cream, I was confused for a second because it's freezing cold where I live. Even with your video to enlighten me, I totally forgot that it's warm where you are.lol!
    That microphone was excellent.

    1. Hi, Maricha! Right now it's about 58f/14.4c, but I'm sure on that day it was around 73f/22.7c. Still, I have had their ice cream when it was freezing out. I always only get a butter pecan hot fudge sundae and if it's cold out I eat it in my car with the heater on, lol. The weather will not deny me my hot fudge fix.

Hmm. I would have liked to have seen that castle put together. I wonder if it comes with all the stickers and things on it or its bare with appliques in a pack. I should look it up on YouTube.

    2. Not sure but it's made by Kidkraft and unlike Mattel their dollhouses usually come with the graphics painted on at the factory. You just assemble the whole thing and put the furniture in.
It makes their dollhouses very easy to wipe clean without ruining them but you're stuck with what they decided the room was unless you paint over it.
Wow, the price of that castle is already halved at some online stores. Christmas gift giving season really is over.
(Indigo says it measures 58"L x 15"W x 38"H but I think they mixed up length with height because it definitely wasn't almost 6 feet long so it would take up a 15"x38" floor space: about the size of an Ikea bookcase.)

  13. Hello Muff! I'm glad you had a great saturday! I also like to park far from the entrance, but because there are usually less cars and I don't want to have my car scratched.
